Elaine Huang, Meditation Teacher & Spiritual Mentor
I began my career in the helping profession in 1992. I have a master’s degree in social work from the University of Illinois and a master’s degree in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. My training, education and passion for learning have never stopped.
While in Chicago, I provided counseling for individuals and couples as a psychotherapist. I also offered short-term therapy, and led meditation classes and groups for employees in several corporate settings (AT&T, Bank of America, and Harris Trust and Savings).
Since moving in 1999 to Bozeman, MT, I have had the honor of guiding and supporting exceptional individuals, leaders, educators, business owners, and healers as they navigate a variety of life challenges. Most individuals that I meet are also interested in applying mindfulness practices and a spiritual framework to their lives.
Drawing upon fields of education, training and study - as well as my intuition - I am able to be highly efficient and effective within a session to bring clarity, ease and hope to an individual. My intuitive capacities strengthened as a result of intensive yoga and meditation practices that began in the late ‘80’s.
My spiritual biography consists of over 30 years of meditation practice, retreats and private mentoring with traditional and contemporary meditation teachers. In 2004, I completed a three-month at-home meditation retreat as well as a silent year-long meditation retreat in 2006 (conducted in various settings). During this year, I had a transformational experience of recognizing true nature. The integration and embodiment process of that recognition continues. During the years of intensive daily yoga and meditation practices, I also had a life-changing kundalini opening in 1994.
Since I was young, I have been drawn towards the pervasive peace of God (or the unseen felt sense of the Divine) that is readily available. The experience of this ever-present field of peace and love is accessible if one is aware and present. The compelling drive to know this peace as well as find the most effective approaches to help ease emotional suffering has been the primary guiding force of my life.
From my personal and professional experience, an individual’s spiritual life, regardless of the path, is an essential part of healing, happiness, and lasting contentment. I am continually inspired by the people I meet, and am tremendously fulfilled and honored in helping them find joy and freedom along their personal, professional, and spiritual journeys.
"I cannot express the gratitude I have for the years of guidance and compassionate support Elaine has provided me. She brings her intelligence, professionalism, wit and wisdom to every session. Life would not be as rich without Elaine in this world. She helps me to navigate what, at times, feels like an arduous and challenging world. I am blessed to have her in my life."
